AI Research Drafting Is a Tool — Not a Replacement

AcademIQ Pro produces structured research drafts using AI. Think of these drafts the way you'd think of a research assistant's first pass, a template from a previous student, or a Grammarly-style writing aid — they're a starting point that accelerates your work, not a finished deliverable.

What we believe

✓ AI is a legitimate productivity tool for academic work — like spell-check, citation managers, or statistical software.
✓ The drafting bottleneck — finding structure, formatting references, writing methodology boilerplate — is exactly where AI helps most.
✓ The substantive work — the original research, the analysis, the interpretation, the contribution — must still come from you.
✓ Institutional policies on AI vary. You are responsible for knowing yours and following it.

Five things to do with every draft

Review the entire draft

Read every section critically. Treat it like a first draft from a junior researcher — useful, but in need of your eye and your editing.

Verify every citation

AI-generated drafts can include placeholder or hallucinated citations. Check every reference against the actual source. Remove any you can't verify. Replace them with real sources you've read.

Add your real research findings

Drafts include placeholder data and analysis frameworks. Replace these with your actual survey results, interview data, or experimental findings. This is where your work goes.

Rewrite in your own voice

Don't submit AI prose verbatim. Read each paragraph, internalize the points, and rewrite in language you'd actually use. This is also where your supervisor will recognize you.

Follow your institution's policy

Some universities require disclosure of AI assistance. Some prohibit certain uses. Some are still figuring out their stance. Find out what yours says and follow it — including disclosing AI use where required.

We expect users to act in good faith. The platform is not intended to be used to:

✗ Submit AI-generated content verbatim as your own original work without review or modification.
✗ Bypass coursework, exams, or assessments that prohibit AI assistance.
✗ Misrepresent AI-assisted drafting as solo work when your institution requires disclosure.
✗ Use generated content as if its claims, citations, or statistics were verified facts — they need to be checked.
